Note: Starting March 25th, the Monroe County History Room will be officially closed–to both the public and to staff–as a result of the EMERGENCY ORDER #12 SAFER AT HOME order, until we are permitted to return. Jarod Roll will be checking email and will keep our Facebook.com/MCLHR updated. The “History Live Program: Coming to Your Census” program has been canceled until further notice. We hope to reschedule later in the year if possible.
Second in our History–Live! 2020 Public Lecture Series: “Coming to Your Census: A History and Overview of the Census and its Records” by Laura Godden on Tuesday, March 31 at 7 pm at the Monroe County Local History Room. In honor of the upcoming 2020 Census and National Census Day on April 1, UW-L Archivist Laura Godden will explore the history, importance, and use of the U.S. Census. Please note this program is held on a Tuesday night instead of the typical Thursday night.
All programs will be held at 7pm at the Monroe County Local History Room, 200 West Main St., Sparta. Special thanks to Park Bank for sponsoring this lecture series.
