Where Art Meets Nature: The Nature Place Hosts Heart of Art Event in La Crosse

Art and nature are colliding in the best way possible right here in La Crosse!

The Nature Place is opening its doors for a special evening experience: Heart of Art. Part of their For the Benefit of Both event series, this pop-up art show and fundraiser is the perfect excuse to get out, get inspired, and support a fantastic local cause, with proceeds directly funding environmental education programming for our community.

Whether you are looking for a unique date night, a creative evening with friends, or just a beautiful way to connect with the Coulee Region, this immersive, nature-inspired night is exactly where you want to be.

What to Expect at Heart of Art

This isn’t your average, quiet gallery walk. Heart of Art is designed to let you experience the intersection of the natural world and creative expression firsthand. Here is a sneak peek at what’s happening:

  • Live Painting: Watch Michigan-based artist Aubrey Borschke bring a canvas to life right before your eyes.
  • Immersive Art Installations: Walk through Timeless Passage, a captivating tunnel installation created by Sara Merideth of SEMERE Tactics.
  • Plein Air Painters: Spot 10 local artists scattered throughout the gorgeous grounds, painting the surrounding gardens and marsh in real time.
  • Pop-Up Gallery & Youth Art: Head into the atrium to browse a gallery of local masterpieces alongside incredible artwork created by the kids in The Nature Place’s Summer Day Camps.
  • Get Hands-On: Don’t just look – create! Tap into your own inner artist with interactive art experiences, outdoor textile installations, and a collaborative community weaving project.
