For many families in the La Crosse area, the excitement of a new school year comes with real financial stress. That’s why the Back2School Program La Crosse exists. This program makes sure every child, no matter their circumstances, has the supplies and confidence they need to thrive. With help from generous sponsors, this community-driven program is filling backpacks and lifting burdens for hundreds of local students.
It’s a simple idea with a big impact: when kids have the tools they need, they can focus on learning. And it’s so much easier to grow when you feel like you belong.
But it takes a village—literally.
The Back2School Program La Crosse is a true community-wide effort. A dedicated group of partners work hand in hand to make a difference: Catholic Charities of the Diocese of La Crosse, The Salvation Army, the La Crosse County Health Department, YMCA, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse, the School District of La Crosse, Mid-West Family La Crosse, and the La Crosse Center. These organizations contribute their time, energy, and resources to ensure local kids start the school year strong.

Local Sponsors Make a Big Difference
Several generous sponsors make this community effort possible:
- Altra Federal Credit Union is providing brand-new backpacks. A well-packed bag does more than carry supplies, it carries confidence.
- April Carrier – Farmers Insurance Agent
- Marine Credit Union
These sponsors prove what we already know: when the community comes together, great things happen for our kids.
