LA CROSSE, Wis. — The La Crosse Marathon returns Saturday, May 2, 2026, bringing runners back to the city for one of the region’s signature running events.
The River City Running Club organizes the annual race. This year’s event includes a full marathon, a half marathon and a 5K. Registration opened Dec. 1 and remains open through May 1, 2026.
In addition to race day, the La Crosse Marathon continues to support local nonprofits. In 2025, the event donated more than $34,000 to community organizations. Those groups included ORA Trails, the Joe Was Just Joe Foundation and the St. Clare Health Mission.
As a result, total donations over the past three years now exceed $85,000. Organizers say they plan to continue that momentum in 2026 while supporting local causes.
Meanwhile, the River City Running Club welcomes runners of all experience levels. The club hosts regular runs and offers a casual way to connect with other runners in the La Crosse area.
